Yes! Jesus personally testified that He would come back to this earth again. Since the Scriptures cannot be broken, this is proof positive — it is His own personal guarantee. Besides, Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of His first coming, so we can be absolutely certain He will fulfill the prophecies of His second coming too!

The Scriptures promise that Jesus will return to this earth in the same manner He left — visibly, literally, bodily, and personally. He will come in the clouds as a living Person with a body of flesh and bones, and His coming will be visible. Scripture is clear on these facts!

Every man, woman, and child living in the world when Jesus returns will see Him at His second coming. The staggering brightness of His appearance will stretch from horizon to horizon, and the atmosphere will be charged with brilliant glory like lightning. No one will be able to hide from it. This will be a loud, dramatic event in which even the dead are raised. Some use 1 Thessalonians 4:16 to suggest a secret rapture, but it is actually one of the noisiest verses in the Bible: the Lord shouts, a trumpet blasts, and the dead are raised!

All the angels of heaven will come with Jesus at His second coming. As the bright cloud nears the earth, Jesus will send forth His angels, and they will quickly gather all the righteous, preparing them for the trip back to heaven.

Jesus is coming back to this earth to save His people, just as He promised, and to take them to the beautiful home He has prepared for them.

Those who accepted Christ during their lives but have died will be raised from their graves, given perfect and immortal bodies, and caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord. The saved who are living will also be given new bodies and caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Then Jesus will take all the saved to heaven. Note that at His second coming Jesus does not touch the earth — the saints meet Him in the air. So God’s people won’t be fooled by any report that Christ is in some city on the earth.

Those who are rebelliously clinging to sin when Jesus comes will perish from His radiant glory.

The earth will be seized by a great earthquake at the coming of the Lord. This earthquake will be so devastating that it will leave the world in a state of total destruction.

Yes! Jesus Himself said that when you see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors. The Lord placed signs all along the way from His ascension to His second coming:

A. The destruction of Jerusalem — Matthew 24:2,16; fulfilled in A.D. 70. B. Great persecution and tribulation — Matthew 24:21; over 1,000 years of persecution during the Dark Ages. C. The sun darkened — Matthew 24:29; supernatural darkness on May 19, 1780. D. The moon like blood — Joel 2:31; on the night of that same dark day. E. Stars fall from heaven — Matthew 24:29; the star shower of November 13, 1833. F. Jesus comes in the clouds — Matthew 24:30; this is the next great event. Are you ready?

Yes! Here are some of the many signs of the last days:

A. Wars and commotions — Luke 21:9. B. Unrest, fear, and upheaval — Luke 21:25,26. C. Increase of knowledge — Daniel 12:4. D. Scoffers and religious skeptics — 2 Peter 3:3; 2 Timothy 4:3,4. E. Moral degeneracy and decline of spirituality — 2 Timothy 3:1–3,5. F. Craze for pleasure — 2 Timothy 3:4. G. Increasing lawlessness, bloody crimes, and violence — Matthew 24:12; Ezekiel 7:23. H. Natural disasters and upheaval — Luke 21:11,25. I. A special message to the world — Matthew 24:14. J. A turning to spiritism — 1 Timothy 4:1; Revelation 16:14. K. Capital-labor trouble — James 5:4,8.

The Bible is very specific and plain on this point. Almost all the signs have been fulfilled. We cannot know the day and hour of Christ’s return, but we can know that His coming is near. God has promised to finish things very quickly now. Christ is coming back to this earth for His people soon. Are you ready?

Satan has invented many false teachings about the second coming and is deceiving millions into believing that Christ has already come or will come in a way inconsistent with the Bible. But Christ warned us of Satan’s strategy, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you.” He exposed the deception beforehand so we could be forewarned. For example, Jesus said plainly that He will not appear in the desert or come to a secret chamber. Whoever knows the Bible’s teaching about the second coming will not be led astray; all others will be deceived.

Jesus stands at the door and knocks; if anyone hears His voice and opens the door, He will come in. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus knocks and asks to come into your heart to change your life. If you turn your life over to Him, He will erase all your sins and give you power to live a godly life. As a free gift, He bestows upon you His own righteous character so you can stand unafraid before a holy God. Your part is simply to give your life to Christ and let Him live within you; His part is to work the mighty miracle that changes your life. It is a free gift — you need only accept it.

There is great danger of becoming so absorbed in the cares of this life or so entranced by the pleasures of sin that the coming of the Lord catches us by surprise, as the Flood did the world in Noah’s day — and we would be unprepared and lost. Sadly, this will be the experience of millions. Jesus is coming very soon. Are you ready?
